Do you want to become a volunteer in Denmark through the ICYE programme?
Here you find an overview of the ICYE-projects in Denmark as well as our “National Profile”, which describes what you can expect from living and volunteering in Denmark.
To volunteer in Denmark through the ICYE you must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
ICYE Denmark offer project placements where you work with children or youth. The projects contain different activities for various age groups.
At the moment, the world is in a very unusual situation with the global pandemic of the Corona Virus, which affects our mobility and travel opportunities.
Some start dates may be postponed due to the situation in your country, the situation in Denmark, the options for travel, or visa procedures.
During this time we will be flexible and we will continue to keep an eye on the situation.
Children and leisure
Teaching and education
- Primary and secondary schools teaching assistant (age 6-16)
- “Efterskole” – a Danish-style boarding school (age 14-18)
- High school teaching assistant (age 15-20)
Some project types have restrictions depending on the volunteer’s age or English skills.
It is also a good idea to consider which projects or project areas your competences and skills can contribute to the working environment.
The typical tasks for each project type is described here. The individual projects may have various additional tasks, which is still relevant for their daily operation.
We cannot tell you where the project is located before applying. We cooperate with many different kindergartens, schools, after school activity centres, youth clubs, ”efterskoler”, and high schools all over Denmark. Please note, that many projects are located in rural, countryside Denmark – please be prepared to live in a smaller village.
Do you want to get a better idea of what to expect from Denmark? Please read our National Profile to be prepared.
