Friday 5th to Sunday 7th November 2021

At the camp, new volunteers will be prepared for their upcoming journey, returned volunteers will share their experiences, and foreign volunteers can meet other, both Danish and foreign, volunteers.

During the course of the weekend we will talk about cultural shock, intercultural understanding, and other practical information. The weekend also allows for networking and getting to know other volunteers of like mind.

There will be a shared bus from Fredericia or Odense station to the camp on Fyn. If you live west of Lillebælt (Jutland) you should take the bus from Fredrecia and if you live east of Lillebælt (Sealand or Funen) you should take bus from Odense. You also have the option of driving there yourself. Read more about transportation below.

In the leaflet you can read about the venue of the camp, how to find it, if you don’t take the shared bus, and what you need to bring.

Transportation

There will be a shared bus from Fredericia or Odense station to the camp on Fyn. If you live west of Lillebælt (Jylland) you should take the bus from Fredrecia and if you live east of Lillebælt (Sjælland or Fyn) you should take bus from Odense.

Your expenses for transportation to and from the camp will be refunded. We recommend you to buy an Orange Ticket, if you go by train, or find out if you can catch a ride if someone is going by car.

Other types of discount options are also encouraged.

It is also possible to see if you can catch a ride with someone driving to the camp or fill up the car if you are driving yourself. If you are driving, you can only get gas money, if you live more than 70 km from the pick-up-points (Fredericia and Odense). Here you need to add a map of your journey (e.g. from Krak og Google Map) to document your route. The number for kilmetres should be clearly visible and show where you journey starts to the destination at te camp.

Other modes of transport

By car

If you’re driving to the camp, you can get money for the mileage.

You get 1.50 DKK per kilometre, if you live more than 70 kilometres from the nearest pickup point (Fredericia Station or Odense Station).

You are very welcome to offer a ride to other people who are going to the camp. You will get 50 DKK per person each way on top of the mileage. You need to pick them up more than 70 kilometres from the nearest pickup points for this to apply.

In your refund description you need to write who you picked up and where. Going home Sunday, you need to write who got a ride and where you dropped them off.

Flextrafik/teletaxa

Will you be arriving to the camp at a time outside the times for the shared buses? You have the option of using Flextrafik.

Here you order a special taxi at the same price as a bus ticket.
From Fynbus.dk:
“When you have found your journey through Rejseplanen and it contains Teletaxi, then you can order the journey with Teletaxi.

  • Go to www.FynBus.dk/Flexbestilling and sign up as a costumer. Then you can always log in and order new journeys, see your previous journeys, and cancel journeys.
  • You can also call FynBus at +45 63 11 22 55 (dial 1) weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm and weekends/holidays between 8 am and 6 pm.
  • All journeys must be ordered at least two hours before departure.”
