Description of the Project

BV Vesthimmerland is a public organization that offers protective workshops and social jobs for people with disabilities, outside the normal labor market. The protective workshops are a safe, disability-friendly environment which helps them develop and improve their skills, at the same time that they supplement their social grants through the sale of the products that they make.

BV Vesthimmerland receives about 180 people every day, spread out in 8 locations in the area of Vesthimmerland Municipality. The organization employs 40 socialworkers, 3 administrative workers and 4 practical staff. Their principles are inclusion and understanding of different people and different ways of living.

It is located in the town of Løgstor, beautifully situated at the banks of Limfjorden. The surroundings are very infuenced by the fjord and the old fishing town. Today the fishing trade has declined, and now it is smaller industries and companies that support the economy of the are. However, in the summertime, Løgstor is full of tourists.
